A Green Turtle @ Saxon Reef @ The Great Barrier Reef

April 9, 2006 By jennifer

Reef April06 0021 blog.JPG

I went snorkling on Saturday off Cairns. It was a magnificent day. I saw lots of fish and coral. But the highlight was swimming with this green turtle at Saxon reef.

You can’t properly see the turtle’s head for its fin, but poking out from its mouth is a bit of seaweed which it had snatched from my fingers.

    Jen,
I am jealous, down my way there is snow on the Mountain, and snorkelling is the last thing on our minds as we cuddle up to our wood fired heater.
Perhaps global warming will let us all frolic with the turtles or all enjoy snow covered peaks at the same time?

Is that one of those endangered lap-dancing turtles?
